As a little boy, greyened factories surround
You kick a football in the street, hear the milk float sound
but he was lost in his head
fed up of frost in his bed
and he would never be with a flat cap and whippet , they said

A 60s realisation took on the entrepreneurs hat
selling meat from a van with all the del boy sav
but then he falls in love, a sceptic Dad resists
ITs time to ditch the wheeler dealing and become a banker he insists.

Until now i never knew his plight
Social standards and feelings
the two can't requite
until now i never realised the demons living inside and outside
a world unkind
Lesson learned not ever taught
Tell you son not to be caught

So now i feel new love for you
You weren't given a chance
just played societies dance
Until now i thank god i spent that time with you
where we opened up to see
a depth released outside
ever changing hear my cry
