about

This was written in Rishikesh and i had a daily walk where i met some people in such horrific states of physical living you wouldn't believe, but they were so uplifting in their conversations and outlook on life. I was struggling to reconcile this with my own struggles of anxiety and why i hid away from life when here is a person with one leg trying to support 3 kids but still bringing joy to my daily walk through conversation.
It puts a lot into perspective.
This is a reflection of my dark times leading to how those dark times are an essential part of life and actually they are made darker by our own minds. Once again human connection is massively underated and sometimes with just a 2 minute conversation, a person's mindset can change from despair to joy.
In the neighbourhood i lived in everybody asked about everybody else and joked with each other. These days in the western world, some of us don't even know the people living on our street. How understandable but also how ridiculous. You don't have to be their best mate, but just by connecting with a "Hello" or minimal conversation you are shining some light on another person............and consequently the world

lyrics

There's someone talking to me
There's people talking to me, oh lord
Why would it always read, that you can't ever be seen

There's someone talking to me
I always hear yet concede
its an author's malaise inside
and no one else can get there and so I hide

In the dead of the dawn
you wake up with a fright, a sight
oh in the dead of dawn
Will i always be frightened inside?
Oh lord
Why don't you come to me
then i'll stop to see
that your light doesn't shine anymore

Breathe away your tower of strength
I can look out in this day and feel my heart entwined
with light and dark aligned
Everyday it comes
wages a power struggle long
know it always saved a life for me again

bring the light let it shine evermore
